Teide, Masca, Garachico, and Sunset Exclusive Tour
Van, 9 hours · from Puerto de la Cruz
Almost every Teide-and-Masca day on this island collects in the south. This one starts and finishes in Puerto de la Cruz, carries eight people in a van and ends at sunset in the national park with a glass of something. ★4.7 from 213, and the only recurring complaint is that the back of the van cannot always hear the guide.
Puerto de la Cruz, the west coast, and back
The operator’s own itinerary with its own timings, read 15 September 2026. Stop times can be shortened; the sunset arrival cannot.

The detail behind the verdict
If you are staying in the north, this is the booking that exists for you. The route runs the western circle — the dragon tree at Icod, an hour in Garachico with time to swim in the lava pools if the sea allows, two miradors on the road above Masca, an hour in Masca itself, then La Ruleta and Minas de San José inside the park, and forty minutes at a viewpoint for the sunset with an aperitif. The whole thing is published with the minutes against each stop, which makes it easy to see what nine hours actually buys.
The small print then does something we have not seen elsewhere: it says outright that stop times may be trimmed to guarantee a punctual arrival at the sunset point, because that part of the schedule is non-negotiable. You are told in advance which end of the day gets protected, and it is not Garachico. Eight seats and one person doing both the driving and the commentary is the shape of the day, and it is also the one thing people ask to be better — sitting at the back, the commentary can be hard to hear.
The guide, named Manolo in review after review, is otherwise the reason for the score. Bring a swimsuit for the pools, a jacket for the park, and ID. Lunch is not included: the itinerary marks the Masca stop as an extra fee, and that is where most people eat. One correction. The description says you hike through Buenavista in Masca until you reach a height of 2 000 metres. You do not: Masca sits at about 600 m and the walk there is the easy one the listing promises elsewhere. The 2 000 m comes later, in the national park, from the seat of the van.
Questions about this tour
Is the Teide, Masca and Garachico sunset tour worth it?
★4.7 from 213 with value at 4.6, for nine hours in a van of eight that ends at sunset in the park. At €95 it is dearer than the coach days, and the small group and the north start are what you are paying for.
Does it pick up in the south?
No. It collects and returns in Puerto de la Cruz, at two points. That is unusual — most island day tours run the other way round — and it is the main reason to choose this one.
Is lunch included?
No. The itinerary marks the Masca stop with an extra fee, and Masca has the restaurants. There is also an hour in Garachico earlier if you would rather eat there.
What is the aperitif?
A drink with champagne at the sunset viewpoint, and it is in the price. It is the part of the day the reviews remember.
Will I get the full time at every stop?
Not necessarily, and the operator says so: stop times may be adjusted so the van reaches the sunset point punctually, because that schedule is non-negotiable. Everything else bends around it.
Do you really hike to 2 000 metres in Masca?
No. The description says so, but Masca sits at about 600 m and the walk there is easy. The 2 000 m part of the day is the national park, reached by road later.
What should I bring?
Swimwear for the lava pools, a jacket for the park — reviewers mention 2 200 m and cold — comfortable shoes, and a passport or ID card. Leave large bags behind.
Is there a guide as well as a driver?
No, one person does both, and the listing says so in the header. It is also the one thing people ask to improve: from the back of the van the commentary can be hard to hear.
How big is the group?
Eight at most. That is small enough that the stops work without a head count, and it is part of what separates this from the €57 coach version of the same circle.
Can I cancel?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, with reserve-now-pay-later offered, per the listing checked on 15 September 2026.
