Mt. Teide and Masca Valley Tour
Coach, 9.5 hours · pickup from over 150 points
Nine and a half hours for €57 is the longest cheap day on the island, and ★4.5 from 433 is the honest price of that. Before you book, read the pickup exclusions — several whole towns are not collected, and two are collected only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Four stops and a long drive between them
Route from the operator’s own description, read 15 September 2026. The climb goes through Vilaflor or La Esperanza depending on your pickup zone.
What is in the €57

The detail behind the verdict
The pickup list is where this booking is won or lost. The listing advertises over 150 collection points and then names the places it will not go: Santa Cruz, La Laguna, Abades, Palm-Mar, rural villages and cruise ships. In the north it collects only in Puerto de la Cruz. Costa del Silencio and Las Galletas are served on Tuesdays and Thursdays and no other day. None of that is hidden, but none of it is in the highlights either, and it decides whether this tour exists for you at all.
The day itself is the standard island crossing — up to the national park, the dragon tree at Icod, free time in Garachico and in Masca — with one difference from the others we have reviewed: the ascent road depends on where you were collected, through Vilaflor from the south or La Esperanza from the north. Nine and a half hours is long. The reviews say so in the politest possible way, asking for more time at Masca and at Teide, which is what people ask of every one of these tours.
The unusual number here is that transport scores 4.7 and the guide 4.6 — the driver is rated above the guide, and the reviews explain it, praising by name whoever took the coach down the Masca road. Two more things. The operator trades as Utopia Boat Party, which tells you nothing about a mountain coach tour and is worth knowing so you are not confused when the confirmation arrives. And the listing warns that fire risk can close parts of the route during a heatwave, which in August is not a formality. On Vilaflor this operator is careful where others are not: it says one of Spain’s highest villages, not the highest. That version is fair.
Questions about this tour
Is the Mt. Teide and Masca Valley tour worth it?
For €57 and nine and a half hours, the arithmetic is hard to beat. ★4.5 from 433 with value at 4.5 is a fair score for a long day with four stops and a lot of driving between them.
Where does it pick up?
From over 150 points, but not from Santa Cruz, La Laguna, Abades, Palm-Mar, rural villages or cruise ships. In the north it collects only in Puerto de la Cruz. Check your town is on the list before you pay.
I am staying in Costa del Silencio. Can I go?
Only on a Tuesday or a Thursday. The same applies to Las Galletas. That is stated on the listing and it is easy to miss.
How long is the day really?
Nine and a half hours, which is the longest of the Teide and Masca day tours we have reviewed. The most common request in the feedback is more time at the stops, and with four of them plus the driving, that is the trade.
Is lunch included?
No. Food and drinks are excluded unless an option says otherwise, so there is free time rather than a meal.
Which road does it take up the mountain?
Through Vilaflor if you are collected in the south, or La Esperanza if you are collected in the north. The operator lists both, so the view on the way up depends on your pickup.
Why is the transport rated higher than the guide?
Because of the Masca road. Reviews name the driver as often as the guide, and the compliment is always about getting a coach down a very narrow mountain road calmly.
Who actually runs it?
A company trading as Utopia Boat Party, which has nothing to do with boats on this product. Worth knowing so the confirmation email does not surprise you.
Is Vilaflor the highest village in Spain?
This operator says one of Spain’s highest, which is fair. Others say the highest, which is not: Vilaflor is the highest village in the Canary Islands at about 1 400 m, and the mainland has higher.
What if there is a heatwave?
The listing says fire risk can close some areas during intense heat. In practice the route is modified rather than cancelled, so check the forecast if you are booking in high summer.
